Relates chiefly to the reporting of political issues, such as the impeachment proceedings against Andrew Johnson, the disputed presidential election of 1876, and the consistency of the Boston Journal, which was edited by Clapp, in advancing the principles of the Republican Party. Includes letters from C.F. Kitteridge and James B. Runnion.
